Chesney concert snaps all-time Target Field attendance record again

The Kenny Chesney and Jason Aldean concert set an all-time attendance record for any event at Target Field on Saturday night, marking the second time Chesney has drawn a record crowd to the venue.

"There have been those out there saying, 'Why Chesney, why Chesney?' Well, I give you 44,000 reasons 'Why Chesney,'" Twins and Target Field spokesperson Kevin Smith said.

A sellout crowd of  44,152 filled Target Field the day after storms pummeled much of the metro. The previous attendance record was set 43,940 on July 12, 2013 for Kenny Chesney and Zac Brown Band's “No Shoes Nation” concert.

On Sunday for night two of the concert, 40,327 cowboy-boot clad fans showed up at Target Field for a 2-night total of 84,479.
