Career fair aims to help people of color find jobs

Minnesota has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country, but there is still a vast disparity in the unemployment rate among people of color.

To help, the People of Color Career Fair is happening this Thursday at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

The career fair's founder, Sharon Smith-Akinsanya, Minnesota’s director of recruitment & retention and affirmative action Tracey Gibson, and Minnesota’s chief inclusion officer James Burroughs joined Leah Beno to discuss the upcoming fair and how to narrow the employment gap.

Gov.Mark Dayton, Minneapolis mayor Betsy Hodges and St. Paul mayor Chris Coleman will also be in attendance.
