Boy dies in ATV crash Cass County, Minn.

CASS COUNTY, Minn. (KMSP) - A 9-year-old boy has died after an ATV crash Sunday evening in Cass County, Minnesota.

The Cass County sheriff's office responded to a report of a crash at 5:09 p.m. in Boy River. When deputies arrived they learned a 9-year-old boy had been operating a 2015 Yamaha 700 ATV with a 15-year-old passenger when they lost control in a water hole, flipping the ATV on top of them.

The ATV was removed from the boy. Life-saving efforts were ultimately unsuccessful.

The passenger was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

 An autopsy is scheduled with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office and the investigation continues.
