Aspiring firefighter killed in rollover crash in Dodge County

An 18-year-old volunteer firefighter from Dodge County was killed when he was thrown from a car as it rolled into a ditch in Dodge County Friday night.

The car was traveling southbound on 275th Avenue north of Dodge County Road 5 when it went off the road and rolled into a ditch. Three of the four people in the car were not wearing their seatbelt and were thrown from the vehicle during the crash.

Logan Maas, a senior at Triton High School in Dodge Center, Minn. and a volunteer firefighter with the Dodge County Fire Department, was killed in the crash. The 17-year-old driver and two other passengers were injured in the crash.

Members of the Dodge County Fire Department set up a GoFundMe page to help the Maas family with funeral costs.
