71-year-old pedestrian struck, killed in St. Cloud crash

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KMSP) - A 71-year-old man has died after he was hit by a car Tuesday evening in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
Around 5:44 p.m., officers responded to a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle at the roundabout located at 5th Avenue and University Drive South. Another officer was passing by the location immediately after the accident and stopped to render aid.
According to the investigation, 45-year-old driver was heading west on University and entered the roundabout at 5th Avenue South, attempting to exit to continue on University. At that moment, the pedestrian walked across the road and was struck by the car.
The victim has been identified as Adow Hassan Abdi of St. Cloud.
The driver stopped immediately and rendered aid alongside other bystanders. The driver did not display any signs of impairment and has been cooperating fully with the investigation.
The victim was transported to the hospital where he later died.
