HAM LAKE, Minn. (KMSP) - A 5-year-old girl died in a fire at a mobile home on the 3000 block of Meadow Lane in Ham Lake, Minn. early Sunday morning, according to the Anoka County Sheriff’s office.
"Today, we experienced a parent’s worst nightmare when our daughter, Jaidyn Grace Andrus was tragically taken from us in a house fire," mother Alecia Kees said in a statement. "No words can ever explain the depth of our love for her."
The other occupant of the home, a 37-year-old man, was injured in the fire and is in the hospital. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

School district statement
Superintended of ISD 728 Schools Dr. Mark Bezek and Parker Elementary School Principal Scott Lempka were notified by authorities Sunday regarding the death of a kindergarten student.
Jaidyn Andrus, 5, died after a fire at her father's home in Ham Lake. "It's a very sad day," Lempka said "Jaidyn always part of our Parker family, and we will miss her very much.”
Counselors and support staff are on hand at Parker Elementary today and will be as needed. Additionally, the district has materials available to share with families to assist with talking about the Jaidyn's death.
