5-year-old girl, 1 other dead in crash near McGregor, Minn.

A five-year-old girl was one of the victims of a double-fatal crash Tuesday evening near McGregor, Minnesota. 

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Dodge Journey crossover was heading westbound on Highway 210 when it slid sideways into the eastbound lane where it was hit on the rear passenger side by a Ford pickup truck.

The Dodge was carrying a 36-year-old woman, a 15-year-old boy and a five-year-old girl. The 36-year-old and the five-year-old died at the scene and the 15-year-old was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The two people traveling in the Ford both suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital.

Alcohol is not believed to have played a factor in the crash. The State Patrol will continue to investigate the incident.
