3 Xcel Energy workers injured at Sherco plant in electrical incident

BECKER, Minn. (KMSP) - Three Xcel Energy workers at the Sherco power plant in Becker, Minn. are recovering from non-life threatening injuries after an electrical incident, according to an Xcel Energy official statement.
The three employees were working near the breaker when it failed. All three were wearing their protective equipment.
Emergency crews took the workers to Hennepin County Medical Center.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
Xcel Energy statement:
Three Xcel Energy employees sustained non-life threatening injuries today at our Sherco power plant. The employees were working near a breaker that failed. Workers immediately called 911 and paramedics arrived quickly and transported all three to Hennepin County Medical Center. The safety of our employees is our number one priority, and all three members were wearing the proper protective equipment. We are working to determine the cause of this incident, but right now our thoughts are with our employees.
