3 vehicle crash shuts Highway 7 in Hopkins for hours on Sunday

A crash involving three vehicles shut down traffic in Hopkins on Sunday.

State Patrol was called around 6:30 p.m. to Highway 7 at Highway 169 for the crash.

According to investigators, it appears a Toyota 4-Runner was headed north on 169 onto Highway 7 when it hit a guardrail and went through the red light at the intersection.

Investigators say the 4-Runner hit a Chevy Silverado headed east on Highway 7, causing the Chevy to roll over and hit a Toyota Camry stopped at the light.

Minnesota State Patrol says there were injuries in the crash, but the extent of the injuries is not known.

The roadway was closed until 10 p.m. as troopers investigated.
