17-year-old found dead on side of road in Fridley, foul play suspected

FRIDLEY, Minn. (KMSP) - Police in Fridley, Minnesota are investigating a murder after a 17-year-old boy was found dead on the side of the road early Monday morning.

At 1:12 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 7600 block of Meadowmoor Drive Northeast for a man who was not breathing. When officers arrived, they found the 17-year-old dead on the side of the road.

The death is being investigated as a murder because the “manner of death indicates foul play,” according to the Anoka County sheriff’s office.

The victim has been identified as Mohanned Abdul Hafiz Abukhdeir of Fridley. 

The incident remains under investigation by the Fridley Police Department, the Midwest Medical Examiner’s office and the Anoka County sheriff’s office.
