11 children injured in head-on school bus crash near Granite Falls, Minn.

A school bus carrying 11 children was involved in a head-on crash Monday morning on Highway 212 in Granite Falls, Minn. None of the injuries sustained in the crash were life-threatening, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

According to the preliminary investigation, a Kia Soul compact SUV driven by 33-year-old Anthony Blue of Granite Falls crossed the centerline of the highway and struck the school bus head-on. The 11 children and two adults on the bus -- identified as 52-year-old Michelle Groen of Danube, Minn. and 35-year-old Lilia Morales of Renville, Minn. -- were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

The passenger of the Kia, identified as 28-year-old Avis Amundson of Detroit Lakes, Minn., was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center. She was reportedly in satisfactory condition Monday.
