$1,000 reward to ID suspect in Columbia Heights home invasion, shooting
COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, Minn. (KMSP) - Columbia Heights police, the Anoka County sheriff and Crime Stoppers are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect in the Sept. 22 home invasion and shooting of a 76-year-old man. Video surveillance from the Target store at 53rd Avenue and Central Avenue, as well as other cameras in the area, shows the suspect following the victim to his home on the 5000 block of Johnson Street NE.
Police say the victim returned to from Target around 9 p.m. and entered his house through the attached garage. The suspect then entered the still-open garage door, walked into the house and immediately shot the man several times, without making any demands. The suspect proceeded to search the man's pockets, steal his wallet and run out of the house.
