1 in critical condition after north Minneapolis fire

The Minneapolis fire department is investigating a house fire that left one person in critical condition Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to a fire around 1 p.m. in a bedroom at 3606 Dupont Avenue North, a single family home. One resident was able to escape on their own and another was rescued from the second floor by firefighters.

Responders performed CPR on the rescued victim, who was then transported to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.

The fire was contained and is currently under investigation.
