A horrific car accident near Prior Lake, Minn., left one dead and four injured Sunday afternoon, with an SUV partially submerged in the lake, according to a release.

Police shut down roads near the scene of the incident at Highway 13 and 170th Street, where a truck towing a boat ran into the SUV while it was making a left turn, sending it into the lake. The boat detached from the truck and came to a stop just a few yards away.

The 76-year-old driver of the partially submerged SUV, identified as Robert Wolff of Shakopee, died in the incident and the four people in the truck were transported to St. Francis Hospital, one with life-threatening injuries, the release said. Among those victims were three adults and an eight-year-old child.

Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the incident.
