November storm drops pea-size hail on Twin Cities

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - Thunder, lightning, heavy rain and pea-sized hail pushed through the Twin Cities metro on Monday morning. The National Weather service officially recorded half-inch hail in Prior Lake.

National Weather Service storm track

A narrow line of showers and scattered thunderstorms will continue trekking NNE at about 50 mph across portions of East Central MN prior to 11:30 a.m. Most of this activity will remain east of a line from Cleveland to Chanhassen to St. Francis. Rainfall amounts in the one quarter of an inch to near 8/10 of an inch should be anticipated by 11:30 over the affected area. Short bursts of pea-size to 1/2 inch hail may also be encountered with the heaviest storms. Look for this activity to continue until at least 1 p.m.
