Northeast Minneapolis has a new distillery and cocktail room; one that promises to deliver whiskey flavors that don?t exist anywhere else. Brother Justus Whiskey Company tapped in to Minnesota?s natural resources to bring the flavors of the North to their products. Founder and Owner, Phil Steger said the plan was to open their spacious location the week before Thanksgiving, but that?s the same week Governor Walz announced the four-week closure of bars and restaurants. Until they can open to the public they?re offering delivery and curbside pickup. And this week Steger expects their whiskey to arrive in Minnesota Liquor stores.

St. Paul hosts Thanksgiving farmers’ market
The St. Paul Farmers’ Market is hosting a Thanksgiving market today. It’s a big deal because this is the one day each year that the market is open on a weekday. They’ve got all the fixings from turkey to sides and baked goods. The market will be open from 10am to 4pm at 290 5th St. E. Below are two recipes we shared on the Fox 9 Morning News. Both were made with ingredients from this special edition of the Farmers’ Market. Savory Squash Ingredients • 1 butternut squash, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes • 2 tablespoons olive oil • 1/8 teaspoon ground thyme • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper • salt to taste • 1/2 cup shredded Romano cheese Directions • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. • Mix butternut squash, olive oil, thyme, black pepper, and salt in a large bowl until evenly coated. Spread mixture in a large baking dish in an even layer; cover with aluminum foil. • Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes; remove foil and stir in half the Romano cheese. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top. Return to oven, uncovered, and continue to bake until tender and golden brown, about 20 minutes more. Sparkling Cranberry Kombucha Mocktail Ingredients: 1” slice of fresh ginger, thinly sliced, plus more for garnish 1 large sprig fresh rosemary, plus more for garnish, ½ cup 100% cranberry juice, 2 12-ounce bottles Live Original or Ginger Kombucha (may substitute kombucha of choice), Fresh cranberries, rosemary sprigs, and thinly sliced ginger for garnish Instructions: Fill 4 double old-fashioned glasses with ice and set aside. In a pitcher or quart-size Mason jar, muddle sliced ginger and rosemary together using the end of a wooden spoon or a muddler if you have one. Add cranberry juice and kombucha; stir gently to combine. Pour into ice-filled glasses (using a strainer, if necessary) and garnish with sprigs of rosemary, a slice of fresh ginger, and a few cranberries before serving.

There?s another drive-thru light show to add to your holiday bucket list. It?s in the southwest metro at a place people typically get lost in corn maze. Sever?s Fall Festival is now Sever?s Holiday Lights. There are 1.2 million lights on the half-mile drive that are timed to Christmas tunes on a special radio frequency. The show opens for the season on Thursday, November 26th. It will be open seven days a week. At the end of the drive-thru there is a concession stand with mini donuts and hot apple cider.

But one bright spot is the sales of vinyl records which are up more than 11 percent in the last year according to data from Nielsen Music. The Twin Cities most well-known independent record store, that sells plenty of vinyl, is Electric Fetus. They?ve seen a surge in interest in vinyl in the last year, but have also benefitted from getting their hands on signed merchandise from artists like Taylor Swift, Bon Jovi and Megan Thee Stallion. We visited the shop to see what they?re expecting to be the biggest sellers this holiday season.

Buck Hill opens for the season
Burnsville's Buck Hill has been furiously making snow and will open the slopes this weekend. With the new dial-back in place, the lodge will no longer be open for warming, guests will be allowed inside to grab food and use the restroom, but will not be allowed to linger. Buck Hill has also announced they are not currently allowing group instruction.

Night Trains holiday tradition returns to St. Paul
The Twin City Model railroad Museum is bringing back it?s Night Trains event. The show has become a holiday tradition for many families. This year will look a little different with COVID 19 safety restrictions in place including a much smaller visitor limit and a one-way flow of traffic. The event takes place Saturdays from 3pm to 7pm through February 27th.

Michelangelo?s Sistine Chapel exhibit arrives at Mall of America
A museum-quality replica of the Sistine Chapel ceiling has arrived at the Mall of America. And with travel mostly on hold, this presents a unique opportunity to explore Michelangelo?s work without having to get on a plane. The life-sized replicas will be on display in the exhibit from November 13th through January 31st on the 2nd floor of the North Atrium.

Restaurants across the Twin Cities are adding heaters, tents and domes to their patios to extend the outdoor dining season. And some are even taking that concept and expanding it. Northeast Minneapolis brewery, Broken Clock Brewing Collective has put up three themed igloos. They offer ?A Day at the Beach? igloo with a lifeguard chair and a surfboard table, ?Retro? which has knitted throws and vintage seating and a hefty box TV, and ?Camping? which even smells and sounds like a night under the stars in the woods. Each igloo comes equipped with a heater. The igloos must be reserved in advance and can hold up to six people. Broken Clock Beertenders never go in the igloos; instead orders are left on a barrel outside the dome entrance. Each dome is sanitized in between groups.

Smack Shack is offering virtual corporate parties. They're designed for groups of 30 to 70. Soapy Joe?s Haunted Car Wash runs October 29th and 30th from 6pm to 9pm and includes candy for kids. The costumed team works in tandem with the use spooky lighting and fog machines.

They sell frosted sugar cookies with presidential candidates? names on them. And they?re keeping track of the sales. The winning candidate?s cookie has consistently aligned with the popular vote since its inception. During the last election cycle, Hanisch Bakery sold around 3,000 cookies with Hillary Clinton winning by just four cookies. This year, they?ve already sold almost 14,000 cookies and there?s still 10 days until the election. And for the first time since 1992, there?s a surprising third party candidate, a red white and blue poop emoji cookie. It?s something the owner, Bill Hanisch, came up with after the first debate. Ballet Co. Laboratory plans drive-in performance
After a seven-month hiatus, the Ballet Co. Laboratory dancers are returning to the stage. But this much-anticipated show will take place outside, drive-in style. The professional ballet company?s dances will honor 50?s music legends and audience members will be able to tune into the show on their radios. They?ll also get a snack box and beverages as well. Goats clean up Normandale Community College trails

Goats from the grazing program at Minnesota Native Landscapes just wrapped up a month-long clearing effort at Normandale Community College in Bloomington. The 30 goats ate their way through the invasive species, like buckthorn, on the campus hiking trails. Once the work is complete, Alex Nichols, director of Grazing Operations, and his dog Newt come in to round up the goats to head back to the farm.

The Bell Museum has created a groundbreaking new show for the planetarium and it has nothing to do with outer space. Instead, this show takes you inside one of the body's most important organs; the brain. Mysteries of the Brain is recommended for elementary and middle school age students. The immersive, animated adventure follows a curious girl and her crow companion. The content was created over a span of two years with help from science advisors at the University of Minnesota. This year, they're improvising again with a drive-in haunted attraction that's even caught the eye of the New York Times. The new terrifying socially-distanced experience is called ?The Deadly Drive-in? and it's not for the faint of heart or those under 14. It?s created by Flip Phone Events. At last check the event was almost sold out.
