Wild win opener with 4 goals in 5 minutes

The Minnesota Wild got off to a slow start in Thursday night’s season opener at Colorado, letting the Avalanche take a 3-0 lead in the first period. In the second period, hometown star Zach Parise put the Wild on the board, but the Avalanche quickly answered to make it 4-1.

In the third period, Minnesota scored 4 straight goals in just over 5 minutes, including 2 more from Parise to steal a 5-4 season opening win. Parise’s hat trick is his first in a Wild uniform.

The Wild are back in St. Paul Saturday night for their home opener against the St. Louis Blues.
