Twins hope home field advantage will clinch playoff spot

The excitement is building at Target Field as the Minnesota Twins take on their first of three games against the Kansas City Royals, hoping a home field advantage will help them clinch a coveted playoff spot.

A season of 152 games has come down to the final weekend. After Thursday night’s big win, the Minnesota Twins are just one game behind the Houston Astros for the second wild card spot.

Twins officials say they have sold about 32,000 tickets for Friday’s game against the Royals, but being this close to making the playoffs makes the final three games that much more exciting for fans.

The team is already hedging their bets and selling tickets for a couple of divisional playoff games.

The Twins haven’t been to the playoffs since their first year at Target Field.
