Lynx look to snap defending WNBA Sparks winning streak in St. Paul

The Minnesota Lynx are hoping to break the winning streak of an old rival Thursday night – defending WNBA champions the Los Angeles Sparks.

The Lynx were trying to defend their WNBA title and earn their fourth WNBA championship in six seasons last fall when they fell to the Sparks 77-78 in Game 5 of the finals at the Target Center.

This season, they’re hoping to take that title back. The Lynx are ranked No. 1 in the league, with the Sparks close behind in second place.

The Sparks are also on an eight-game winning streak, which they are looking to extend in St. Paul on Thursday night.

This will be the teams’ first rematch since Game 5 last October. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m. at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
