Gophers basketball star Rachel Banham scores 60 points, ties NCAA record

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - Gophers Women's Basketball star Rachel Banham scored 60 points for Minnesota against Northwestern on Sunday. She tied the NCAA record for most points in a game, and broke the Big Ten record.

The Gophers beat Northwestern 112 to 106 in double overtime on the road.

On Tuesday, Kobe Bryant even congratulated Banham -- "Congrats on the 60 @rachelbanham15. From what I've seen I don't think it will be the last time you hit that mark," Bryant tweeted. Banham then tweeted back, "Thanks Kobe! #LifeMade" The NBA legend responded, "Keep it goin!"
