Woman's body found near shore of St. Croix River in Scandia

A woman's body was pulled from the St. Croix River in Scandia, Minn. on Saturday, though her identity has not been confirmed and the circumstances surrounding her death are unclear.

At about 6 p.m. a boater on the St. Croix called Washington County sheriff's officials and reported a body floating near shore. Sheriff's officials responded to the area and determined the body was a female, but no further details have been released.

The incident is being investigated by the Washington County Sheriff's Office, the Chisago County Sheriff's Office and the Ramsey County Medical Examiner.  No further information will be released until Monday.
