RED WING, Minn. (KMSP) - The majority of the Red Wing, Minnesota is without power after a underground fire caused outages throughout the city.
The fire occurred at 11:40 a.m. The fire was extinguished less than an hour later, but the city says the damage will take a while to repair.
Due to the lack of power, Red Wing schools are releasing students early. Some classes at the Minnesota State College Southeast Red Wing Campus may be canceled.
Officials are also warning drivers to proceed with caution because traffic lights are not working at all intersections. Police officers are manning key intersections in town while the power remains out.
