Two men are in custody in connection to a Fridley murder, according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.

Just after 9 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a call of shots fired with one man shot inside a home on the 1300 block of Osborne Road NE.

When police arrived, the man was dead. Police have identified the victim as 54-year-old James Lamont Chapman of Minneapolis. Chapman did not live at the Fridley home, but had been visiting.

Two suspects left the scene in a silver vehicle, but were later taken into custody in Minneapolis.

They have been identified as 35-year-old Bryston "Bryce" Markeis Hill Turnipseed of Hopkins and 44-year-old Johnny Earl Edwards of Brooklyn Center.

One of home's residents knows Hill Turnipseed. Police say the two suspects know each other and came to the home together.

The motive of the murder is still under investigation.

Charges are pending.
