TOP TEACHER: Sarah Totall of Yinghua Academy

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - Fox 9 is awarding another Top Teacher before the school year lets out!

Sarah Totall is the lead physical education teacher and head of athletics at Yinghua Academy in Minneapolis.

Abigail Pribbenow, a co-worker, nominated Totall for the honor, calling her a team player with a can-do attitude.

"Teachers know her as creative and approachable," wrote Totall. "She actively builds positive relationships with teachers, students, athletes and families. Her door is always open and she is sought after for her creative problem solving ability."

In addition to teaching 800 students K-9, Totall coordinates events such as Family Skate Night in December and the annual Popsicle Run in May.

She also recently successfully fundraised for a lateral climbing wall, which she hopes to incorporate as part of a future ninja warrior-type course.

As a Fox 9 Top Teacher, Totall will receive $900 from Royal Credit Union for classroom supplies, a Subway sandwich party for 50 friends and a Top Teacher award.
