Teen shot after fight on Green Line train Friday

A Metro Transit rider walks on a platform near the U.S. Bank Stadium light rail platform, which will be shut down for the Super Bowl for four days--only allowing those with tickets to the big game inside the established security zone.

A teenager was shot Friday after a fight on the Green Line in St. Paul.

According to a Metro Transit spokesperson, two teens who knew each other got into a fight on the train.

As it pulled into the Lexington Avenue station, one of the teens got up to leave. As he did, he shot the other teen in the arm and fled the scene. The suspect was located and taken into custody with the help of St. Paul Police.

The victim suffered a non life-threatening injury. An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

Metro Transit service was interrupted due to the police activity Friday morning, but is now back to normal.
