After a day of heavy snow, Minnesotans woke up to some freezing temperatures Friday morning.

It feels like minus 30 in the Twin Cities metro, with wind chills as cold as 45 below zero possible across western Minnesota. A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect in the Twin Cities metro until noon, while the area west of the metro is under a Wind Chill Warning.

Thursday's snow and cold prompted many school districts to close Friday. In the Twin Cities metro, most districts have a late start, although Minneapolis and St. Paul public schools closed completely.
