Shots fired at car on I-35E in St. Paul, suspect sought

The Minnesota State Patrol is currently searching for a suspect in a shooting in St. Paul early Tuesday morning.

According to the incident report, shortly before 2 a.m., an individual was stopped at a stoplight near Interstate 35E and Wheelock Parkway when the suspect approached his vehicle and began yelling. The victim drove away while the suspect continued to follow him near 35E and University Ave, firing five to seven shots at the victim. The victim then left the freeway and called the police.

No one was injured during the dispute, but one bullet hit the victim's car. 

Investigators are currently working to learn what caused the incident, but they do not believe it was “road rage.”
