Sheriff: 69-year-old woman likely killed in house fire

A 69-year-old woman is believed to have died in a house fire in western Wisconsin Monday evening, according to authorities. 

Dunn County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a fire at a house on 870th Street in Sand Creek Township at 8:20 p.m. 

Investigators determined the 69-year-old woman, who lived alone at the house, was likely home at the time of the fire. They located a body believed to be that of the woman inside the home. 

The Dunn County Medical Examiner will identify the victim and determine the cause of death. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
