Severe weather rolls through parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin, winds reach 60 mph
(KMSP) - As October opens with a week of strange weather, Minnesota and Wisconsin are dealing with some severe weather and subsequent damage.
At about 4 p.m. Wednesday, a massive 40-degree swing in temperatures spread from northwest to southeast Minnesota. As the cooler air blows in from the northwest, wind speeds reached up to 60 mph in some areas.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued in Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Washington, Pierce and St. Croix counties until 6:30 p.m.
Viewers reported 55 mph winds in St. Paul, and 52 mph winds in Eden Prairie that took down part of a tree.
