Runners flock to 27th annual Race for the Cure in Edina, Minn.

Thousands of runners and walkers headed to Edina, Minnesota for the 27th annual Race for the Cure.

Held outside Southdale Mall every year, the Susan G. Komen Twin Cities Race for the Cure raises funds, brings awareness, celebrates cancer survivorship and honors those who have lost their battle to the disease.

The route will take participants on a 5K or 1K co-ed trek around Lake Cornelia in Edina.
