One dead, three injured in shootings after violent weekend on Minneapolis' north side
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - Two teenagers were injured in shooting late Saturday night on the 3400 block of Fremont Avenue N. in Minneapolis.
According to Minneapolis police, a 17-year-old boy was found with a gunshot wound to his abdomen and was taken to the hospital, where he was in stable condition Sunday. A second victim, an 18-year-old man, showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound to his hands from the same shooting, He was uncooperative with police.
This was the second shooting in a violent weekend for north Minneapolis after 25-year-old Shane Webb was left dead and another victim injured in a shooting just under a mile away on Broadway Avenue West early Saturday morning.
Members of Webb's family gathered Sunday near the spot where he was killed to call for change, asking that people learn from his story.
"Please let this be a wake up call, the streets do not love you," his sister said. "There are only two places you are going to go: down or in jail. It's not worth it."
No arrests have been made in either case, though investigators say at least two of the victims still alive have gang affiliations.
