Noodles and Company security breach: What you need to know
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - Noodles and Company has confirmed a potential data breach affecting the credit and debit cards of customers at certain locations (full list of Minnesota locations at the bottom of this story). Customers who used credit and debit cards at Noodles between January 31, 2016 and June 2, 2016 may be affected.
WHAT HAPPENED? On May 17, a credit card processor alerted Noodles and Company to unusual activity. Noodles worked with third-party forensic experts and on June 2 discovered malware and suspicious activity that indicated a potential compromise of debit and credit card data.
WHAT INFORMATION IS AT RISK? The cardholder’s name, card number, expiration date, and CVV. This incident did not involve online debit or credit card transactions at www.noodles.com.
WHAT IS NOODLES DOING FOR CUSTOMERS? A dedicated assistance line is available from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. EDT at 888-849-1067. Noodles encourages all customers to be vigilant in monitoring their credit and debit card statements for any suspicious charges. If you identify any suspicious charges on your statement, you should immediately report these charges to your card issuer.
Noodles and Company says credit and debit cards used at its stores “are no longer at risk from the malware involved in this incident” and customers “can safely use their credit and debit cards at Noodles and Company locations.”
Noodles and Company has been working with third-party forensic investigators to determine how this breach happened and what information was affected. The company is also working with the United States Secret Service to investigate this security breach.

On June 28, 2016, we announced that a recent data security incident may have compromised the security of payment information of some guests who used debit or credit cards at certain Noodles & Company locations between January 31, 2016 and June 2, 2016. We contained the incident once the malware was identified and credit and debit cards used at the affected locations identified are no longer at risk from the malware involved in this incident. Guests can safely use their credit and debit cards at Noodles & Company locations.
