Police in Brooklyn Park are asking for the public’s help in finding an 89-year-old man with Alzheimer’s.

The man was identified as Sylvester Smith. He was last seen by his family at 4 a.m. Saturday, but when the family awoke at 7 a.m., Smith was nowhere to be found.

It is believed he walked away from the home on the 6600 block of Cherokee Lane N.

Smith’s family says he is sociable, but is not familiar with the neighborhood.

He is a light-skinned, black male who stands at 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds.
