Minnesota State Fair breaks opening day attendance record with 133,326 visitors
(FOX 9) - The first day of the 2019 Minnesota State Fair was an opening day record, with 133,326 visitors. The previous record was 122,695.
Day 1 of the Great Minnesota Get-Together had perfect weather, 31 new foods, a lot of Gophers, Hootie and the Blowfish on stage at the Grandstand and a full day of live FOX 9 broadcasts next to the Giant Slide.
The 2018 Minnesota State Fair set a total attendance record with 2,046,533 visitors through the gates. Last year, five days of the State Fair broke attendance records, and the second Saturday of the Fair set an all-time single-day attendance record with 270,426 visitors.
