Minneapolis firefighters give pancakes, shelter to Oliver Ave. fire victims

12 people were forced out of their home after an overnight fire in Minneapolis. Crews were called to the 1600 block of Oliver Avenue N. around 3 a.m. Friday.

A small fire in a bedroom was quickly extinguished, but one person suffered an asthma attack and had to be taken to HCMC. No one else was hurt.

With no other shelter option available, Minneapolis firefighters hosted the displaced residents at Fire Station No. 14, providing hot pancakes and a warm place to sleep. The Red Cross is helping 6 adults and 6 children find a place to stay.
