Man who died in four-car Minneapolis accident identified

The man who died in a four-car accident in Minneapolis Sunday morning has been identified as 32-year-old Jason Ritenour, according to a release from the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.

Officers responded to the scene around 9:36 a.m., after two vehicles reportedly ran a red light and struck two more vehicles at the intersection of Blaisdell Avenue South and 26th Street West. One man was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Three occupants in one of the vehicles that allegedly ran the red light fled on foot after the accident. Police said they apprehended one of the occupants, releasing them after an interview. 

The crash is being investigated by the Minneapolis Police Department Homicide and Traffic Investigation Unit, and anyone with information is encouraged to call 612-692-TIPS (8477).
