Man receives citation after throwing pig's foot at Somali vendor in Willmar, Minn.

A man was cited for disorderly conduct after he reportedly threw a pig's foot on a table run by a local Somali man at a farmer's market in Willmar, Minnesota.

On Saturday around 11 a.m., 61-year-old Joseph Fernkes of Willmar attended a local farmer's market and approached a booth run by a Somali man. He then threw a pig's foot on the table and swore at him, according to a release.

Fernkes then left the area in a wheel chair scooter. There were several witnesses to the incident, and some were able to provide photos of him.

Officers were able to locate Fernkes a short time later and interviewed him about the incident. He is expected to appear in court for the citation.

Disorderly conduct is a misdemeanor crime in the state of Minnesota. If a misdemeanor crime occurs and is not witnessed by a licensed officer, it is not an arrestable offense. The court date is pending.
