Man found dead in St. Paul home with history of police calls
ST. PAUL, Minn. (FOX 9) - The St. Paul Police Department is investigating a homicide after a man was found dead in his home.
Monday night around 4:50 p.m., police received a 911 call about a possible assault in the 1700 block of Benson Avenue, according to St. Paul police spokesman Steve Linders.
When police went inside the home, they found an unresponsive 33-year-old man. St. Paul Fire Department medics determined the man had died. Authorities identified him as Matthew Richard Schramm.
Following preliminary results from an autopsy, police are treating the case as a homicide investigation.
Police brought in the man who called 911 for questioning. No one has been arrested in connection to this case.
Investigators are still processing the scene and conducting interviews.
Within the last year, police have had about 30 to 35 calls to the home. Linders says the calls ranged from disturbances to suspicious vehicles.
This case would mark the city's seventh homicide this year.
