Light rail hits pedestrian at Fairview station in St. Paul

A light rail train in St. Paul struck a woman Monday morning, sending her to the hospital, according to a Metro Transit official.

The incident happened at the Fairview station on University Avenue around 11:30 a.m. A westbound Green Line light rail was moving through the station when it hit a woman who was in the pedestrian crossing.

Emergency crews took the woman to a hospital. Her injuries are unknown at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
