After changing the company’s Snack sales and distribution model, Kellogg’s will be closing and laying off 216 employees at its St. Paul Distribution Center in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota.

The last day for Distribution Center employees will be within the 14-day period starting July 8, and the last day for the Snacks Retail Execution employees will be within the 14-day period beginning August 4.

The company announced the changes back in February, saying that while this is the right move for the company, “it was a difficult decision because of its impact on employees.”

Kellogg’s media representatives wrote that the company has been “actively engaged in conversations with some of our biggest retail partners who have expressed strong interest in hiring these employees for high-demand roles once the transition is complete. As a result, we are optimistic that our employees will find similar employment once this transition is complete.”
