The war between the United States, Israel and Iran enters its 30th day Sunday with growing signs the conflict is expanding both militarily and geographically.

As strikes intensify on multiple fronts, new attacks and rising casualties are raising concerns about a broader regional war and increasing global risk.

An Iranian missile strike on a Saudi air base this week wounded at least 15 American troops and damaged several aircraft, signaling Tehran’s willingness to directly target U.S. forces.

At the same time, Israel says it has significantly degraded Iran’s nuclear capabilities through continued strikes, even as Iran presses ahead with missile and drone attacks across the region.

US in serious discussions with a new regime

8:05 a.m. ET: President Donald Trump references a new regime and possible end to military conflict in Iran.

"Great progress has been made," President Trump said in a Truth Social post this morning.

Trump said serious discussions have been made with a "new, and more reasonable, regime" to end the military's operations in Iran.

Trump posted the following:

The United States of America is in serious discussions with A NEW, AND MORE REASONABLE, REGIME to end our Military Operations in Iran. Great progress has been made but, if for any reason a deal is not shortly reached, which it probably will be, and if the Hormuz Strait is not immediately "Open for Business," we will conclude our lovely "stay" in Iran by blowing up and completely obliterating all of their Electric Generating Plants, Oil Wells and Kharg Island (and possibly all desalinization plants!), which we have purposefully not yet "touched." This will be in retribution for our many soldiers, and others, that Iran has butchered and killed over the old Regime’s 47 year "Reign of Terror." Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP

Trump suggests taking Kharg Island

7:15 a.m. ET: President Donald Trump told the Financial Times that he is considering the idea of seizing Kharg Island in an interview published this morning.

"Maybe we take Kharg Island, maybe we don’t. We have a lot of options," Trump said in the report. "It would also mean we had to be there (on Kharg Island) for a while."

Kharg island is Iran's primary fuel hub in the Persian Gulf, that handles the majority of its crude exports.

Previously, the United States targeted and launched airstrikes on the island. Trump said about Iranian defenses there, "I don’t think they have any defense. We could take it very easily."
