Harrison Smith ruled out vs. Atlanta

This one hurts.

The Vikings announced Saturday that S Harrison Smith has been downgraded from questionable to out for the Vikings-Falcons game Sunday.

Smith is suffering from a knee injury that occurred during the loss to Green Bay last Sunday. Harrison finished the game but missed practice two days this week.

CB Trae Waynes has also been ruled out; Waynes was a late-week add to the injury report with an ankle injury.

The loss of “Harry the Hitman” in particular will be a painful one for the Purple’s Top 10 defense.

The Falcons have problems of their own, however. They’ve lost three of their past four games and will be without the services of RB Devonta Freeman, who is tied for the league lead in touchdowns and is sixth in the league for rushing.
