Gov. Dayton says tentative budget deal in place for special session

Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton says a deal has been reached on the outstanding budget bills needed to call a special session and avoid a partial government shutdown. The main unresolved budget bill was an energy and economic development plan that includes a proposal to help people with disabilities in job searches, as well as a law change to help Minnesota taconite producers.

Deputy Chief of Staff Linden Zakula said the governor would like to hold a special session on Friday, June 12 to avoid "unnecessary disruptions" like the DNR being unable to take campsite reservations.
