MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - The No. 4 Gophers (51-3 overall, 21-1 Big Ten) officially won their first Big Ten Championship in over 20 years over the weekend--and now have the best record in Division I NCAA Softball, surpassing No. 1 Florida (50-5 overall, 20-3 Southeastern Conference) by one win.
Even more impressive than their record is the fashion in which they've gotten here, with over 40 percent of their wins coming by run ruling their opponents.
The Gophers ultimately have their sights set on an NCAA Championship, but in the meantime are content to work toward their third Big Ten Tournament win in the last four years. Play starts on Friday in Ann Arbor, Mich.
