Fire weather watch issued for parts of northeastern Minnesota

(FOX 9) - The National Weather Service issued a fire weather watch for parts of northeast Minnesota, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

This watch impacts Aitkin, Carlton, St. Louis and Pine counties.

Gusty winds and low humidity are expected Saturday afternoon, creating "critical fire weather conditions," according to the DNR. Fires would likely spread quickly.

The DNR is discouraging outdoor burning.
