Driver dies, passenger hospitalized after hitting tree in St. Paul
ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) - A car crash in St. Paul left one person dead early Sunday morning.
Police responded to a crash on the 700 block of Cherokee Heights Boulevard near Cherokee Park where the driver struck a tree. 23-year-old Samuel Gottfredsen of St. Paul died in the crash.
The passenger, a 21-year-old man, was transported to Regions Hospital and is in serious condition.
Police do not know the cause of the crash, but no other vehicles were involved.
