Attempted abduction of Minnesota State Fair booth worker

St. Paul police are looking for witnesses of an attempted abduction outside the Minnesota State Fair on Thursday night. According to police, a 17-year-old girl had just finished working at a State Fair booth when she was verbally harassed by 4 men standing near a parked car at Snelling Avenue and Arlington Avenue.

The victim initially ignored the men and continued walking northbound on the east side of Snelling Avenue. When she passed the car, one of the suspects grabbed her by the arm and neck and tried to force her into the car. The victim sprayed the suspect in the face with mace before running away.

The abduction attempt was reported at 8:48 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27. If you were in the area at that time and may have witnessed the incident, or know anything about the suspects, please call St. Paul police at 651-266-5650. The suspect descriptions provided to police are too vague to publish here.
