After 65 years of boys, Minnesota family will welcome a baby girl

After 65 years of baby boys, a Cottage Grove, Minn. family is finally adding a little girl – and the announcement came on Christmas Day.

Michelle Wind had just one wish during this season of joy and peace: a girl. On Dec. 25, the family learned their bundle of joy would indeed be donning a pink bow. Lillian will be the first girl on Tony Wind’s since since 1950.

There have been 11 boys including his dad, uncles, brothers, nephews and sons. The Winds and their extended family are thrilled, but they’re also prepping for unchartered territory.

“I'm sure I'm going to kinda have to learn how to braid hair,” Tony said.

“I thought it would just be baseballs, and footballs, and action figures and wrestling the rest of my life,” Michelle added.

Baby Lillian’s Great Aunt Margie said it’s about time someone takes over her reign as the only female born into the family.

“I’m happy with either but it's unbelievable we're finally getting our girl,” Tony said.
