5 rescued after fishing boat capsizes on Pearl Lake in Minnesota

Two other fishing boats on Pearl Lake in central Minnesota helped rescue five people who went into the cold waters after their boat capsized on Memorial Day.

According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, the fishing boat capsized on the southeast side of Pearl Lake in Maine Prairie Township at about 3:30 p.m. Monday. The windy conditions on Memorial Day played a role in the 16 foot fishing boat flipping.

Two other fishing boats on the lake helped the victims into boats and brought them to the access where they were cared for by the Kimball Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance. The fishing boat has been removed from the lake.
