25-year-old dead after apparent assault in Cass County
CASS LAKE, Minn. (KMSP) - Authorities in northern Minnesota are investigating a fatal assault of a 25-year-old man that occurred last week.
On Thursday at 11:56 p.m., an assault victim was brought to the Cass Lake Indian Health Services Hospital in Cass County. The victim, a 25-year-old Cass Lake man, was pronounced dead a short time later.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office, Leech Lake Tribal Police Department and Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are investigating the fatal assault. Two search warrants were executed at two homes in Pike Bay Township, but no suspects are in custody.
